Br. Hall will step down as President of Bishop Manogue at the end of the school year, with Dr. Melissa Millard set to assume his role.
Br. Christopher Hall announced that he is stepping down from his role as President of Bishop Manogue, but will remain Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Reno. Dr. Melissa Millard will assume her role as the next President on July 1st, 2026. In an email to parents and staff, Br. Hall shared that he is being recalled to his religious order. He responded to our request for comment saying, “I remain deeply thankful for the time I have served here in the Diocese of Reno. Witnessing this community’s faith and dedication has been humbling and inspiring. I will always carry this experience with me and hold Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in prayer with sincere appreciation.” When asked about the role he served at Bishop Manogue and the role that incoming President Millard will be stepping into, he described it saying, “The President of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School leads the school’s Catholic mission, oversees finances, fundraising, and facilities, supports enrollment and admissions, and works with the Principal to ensure academic success. The President also guides staff, builds strong community relationships, and collaborates with the Board of Directors to support the school’s long-term growth and success.”
Since his appointment by Bishop Mueggenborg, he has overseen many projects. These include starting the Gold Rush Radio podcast, bringing on a school nurse, as well as having a role in the modifications made to the Student Commons last summer. Br. Hall was very active in the Bishop Manogue community and was always in attendance at events such as the New Family Mixer, St. Nick Night, and Grandparents Day. From the time of his introduction to students and staff at an all-school Mass last year, he had remained very visible and open to students and parents. He was seen walking in the halls, talking to students, and striking up conversations with parents at events.
Br. Hall is a member of the religious order known as the Christian Brothers and holds a doctorate in educational leadership. Prior to his roles as President of Bishop Manogue, and Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Reno, he served as assistant superintendent for secondary schools for the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey. As a member of the Christian Brothers, he is being recalled to the East Coast to assist with operations there. Many at Bishop Manogue appreciated Br. Hall’s devotion to the Catholic Church, and the holiness that brought to his role as president.
Br. Hall’s time at Bishop Manogue was described as overwhelmingly positive by students and staff, with many students appreciating his great sense of humor and approachable personality. It is a shared sentiment from members of the Bishop Manogue community that he will be missed, and they wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
