The Track Team has finally kicked off their season after a Winter Indoor Track season that has conditioned them for their highly competitive season.
Hank Kennedy, a high jumper at Bishop Manogue, says, ”I am excited to compete with the competition. It is hard to practice your form during the off season so I used the time as an opportunity, and hopefully I will be a strong competitor and can compete in state this year.” When asked how the work was during their offseason, he exclaims, “Off-season work was hard but well worth it. After working hard I feel more prepared and confident for the upcoming season.”
With a fresh beginning to the season, all of the athletes are excited for the upcoming meets. After testing themselves during the winter, Bishop Manogue has prepared themselves for what’s to come. After a few meets to start off the season, Manogue has proven themselves with podium finishes, to be a threat. Dario Passalalpi has finished top 2 in all of his races. When asked about off season work, Drew Bradeson, a strong competitor for the 400m dash says, “It was nice to practice my craft, and work on my stamina to start off strong. Being able to work alongside my teammates was a great opportunity that we did not have in my previous years running. ” This is an attribute that all athletes on the team possess, they don’t believe that track is just a sport, but it is an art to be perfected.
