This past week Bishop Manogue’s Girls Varsity Basketball Team took over the 4A Nevada bracket. The team won the Nevada state championship playing at Lawlor Events Center on the University of Nevada, Reno campus on February 22nd. The team played hard against Spanish Springs High School and won 52-36 top scorers for this game were Milasarai Tau, Violet Gordon, Fa’anaetaua Puloka, and Mata Peaua.
Leading up to the championship, the girls played in the playoffs, on the 21st, against Legacy High School, again at the Lawlor Events Center, and won 52-36, and before that, they played against Spanish Springs and won 57-48.
This was the last game for the seniors on the team, seniors included Anjali Gosal, Milasarai Tau, Jaileen Yarrow, Katherine Rau, Anna Alonso, Gabrielle Sullivan, and Mata Peaua. Congrats on your accomplishments this season. Senior Anjali Gosal says “I am so happy that I have gotten the opportunity to play with all these awesome girls, I am super proud of all the hard work that everyone has put in, and it is very clear on and off the court. It’s my first year playing with this team and we made it so far, I am so proud we got this far and I couldn’t have asked for a better senior year !”
Congratulations on your amazing efforts this season girls, great job representing Bishop Manogue. We look forward to seeing the girls dominate next season!!
